The Shells and the boat

So you say,
And everything so fine as I walk away
Low and lonely
And happy
On a boat with a place for two,
As you showed me,
How they can buy you diamonds
And laughed!
I was picking up shells…for you
Those Red and the shiny and the blue ones
Too small...oh!
Threw them back into the sea...they were no diamonds!
And when you told me....
That they had the Ships and the palace
I wanted to make a boat
Sail with you to a far off land
But the boat seemed too small
You laughed…
And I let it go.
I didn’t turn back to see if you were there
You weren't !
And i walked back

Low and lonely
And happy
Hoping
You’d keep the boat…my heart…and the shells
